05 · Questions

Adviser outsourcing and provider evidence

Review the current rules and the actual service.

Is the SEC's 2022 adviser outsourcing proposal in force?

No. The SEC withdrew the 2022 proposed adviser outsourcing rule in June 2025. We don't treat it as an effective requirement; assess current duties under rules that apply to your firm.

Can Coverbase assess SOC reports?

Yes. We read submitted SOC 1 and SOC 2 reports against your controls and surface scope gaps and exceptions for your analyst to check.

Can we use one review process for all providers?

Yes. We use a consistent process, but adjust evidence and review depth for the provider's function, fund exposure, and data access.
