05 · Questions

FSMA, certification, and traceability

Use the food-safety rule that applies to the activity.

Does FSMA require the same supplier verification for every distributor?

No. FDA requirements differ by activity and food. Preventive-controls supply-chain provisions apply to receiving facilities with certain identified hazards. Your food-safety team sets the applicable checks; we keep the review record.

Can we keep SQF or BRCGS evidence in a supplier review?

Yes. We attach submitted SQF or BRCGS audit and certification evidence to the supplier assessment so your team can check validity and decide whether it is sufficient.

Does Coverbase replace lot-level traceability or recall execution?

No. We manage supplier diligence and risk follow-up; your operational systems handle required lot-level traceability and recall execution.
